Our Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology trains clinical psychological scientists who complete their training prepared for either an academic career or for service to the community as a scientifically-informed clinical practitioner. Our curriculum emphasizes theoretical and empirical advances in the field of clinical psychology. This includes coursework in research methods, statistics, theory and assessment of psychopathology, psychological interventions, as well as completion of a master's thesis and doctoral dissertation.

Accreditation

The Clinical Psychology program at Mississippi State University is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Our most recent site visit was in Fall 2023 and we were reaccredited for the maximum 10 years. Our next site visit will occur in 2033.

Applicants should make sure to look at our faculty webpage and contact prospective graduate advisors well in advance of submitting their applications to establish a potential match between their interests and their prospective mentor's research laboratory.

GRE scores are optional for all applicants. Students with modest GPAs may find it helpful to submit GRE scores.
